ABOUT THE FARM

We are a small first-generation farm raising pastured poultry in the South Sound region. Our practices are guided by principles of regenerative farming and pasture management, and grounded in deep respect for the animals we raise, the land we steward, and the community we serve.

We take great pride in a hands-on approach — from nurturing day-old chicks and ducklings in the brooder, to raising them out on pasture, to processing, packaging and delivering the birds ourselves. We process our birds with care at a WSDA-approved facility in McCleary owned by G&H Pastured Poultry.

ABOUT THE LAND

Riverbird Farm is located in Kamilche, WA on a stretch of land between Little Skookum and Totten Inlets — 20 miles from what is now Olympia and 10 miles from what is now Shelton. The farm sits on ancestral lands of the many people now known as the Squaxin Island tribe, and is located just four miles from the current Squaxin tribal headquarters.

WITH THANKS

We owe our thanks to many friends, family, and community members for their help making Riverbird Farm a reality. We are especially grateful to Bill and Richenda for sharing their beautiful home and beloved Cold Comfort Farm with us. Riverbird Farm is one chapter in a long, loving tradition of community and land stewardship here. We are grateful to call this place home. We also owe a big thank you to Joan and Terry from G&H Pastured Poultry for sharing their WSDA-approved facility with us for processing and packaging our birds. Due to their generosity, we are now able to offer our birds in CSAs, farmers markets, and restaurants.
